The Ice Series

Limited Edition Prints - Pencil Signed and Numbered by Toller Cranston

The Ice Series provides unique commentary on the contemporary skating world. The concept behind each piece could only have come to an individual who has experienced life in the inner circle of the figure skating elite.

This collection will touch all skaters emotionally. In a manner at once highly artistic and subtle, Toller Cranston expressed the inner thoughts and fears of those who are serious about the sport. It is the enigmatic legacy of a great artist who loved skating as few others have.

About The Artist

Toller Cranston, born April 20, 1949 in Hamilton, Ontario is widely acclaimed as the most influential figure skater of his century. His birthday falls between the astrological sign of the sportsman (Aries) and the artist (Taurus). He was, perhaps as a consequence, something of a modern-day Renaissance man.

Skating was always more than just a sport for Cranston. He saw the ice as another medium to express his creative genius. He revolutionized men's figure skating by introducing artistry and freedom of movement to performance on ice, and in the process broke new ground for generations of male skaters.

A lifetime of remarkable achievements makes this artist extraordinary:

• Olympic Winter Games, Medalist (1976)

• World Figure Skating Championships Medalist (1974)

• Three-Time World Free-Skating Champion (1972, 1974, 1975)

• Internationally-Renowned Painter, Illustrator, Designer, Choreographer, Commentator, and Author (Zero Tollerance [1997], When Hell Freezes Over: Should I Bring My Skates? [2000])
